We have honored African-American, diverse and other high school students who made meaningful improvements and achievements in both their academic and community lives. 

We continue to focus on students who are at a critical junction, at which they have demonstrated sound judgment and commendable progress. Each year this program awards scholarships to high achievers and also “at risk” youth who have overcome obstacles to excel in school and the community. 

Students honored are nominated by their school counselors for demonstrating academic success, excellence, positive change, and each have made noteworthy progress during the school year in the areas of academic excellence, extracurricular activities, community/civic involvement, and leadership experience. 

Scholarships are also awarded to some graduating Project M.I.S.T.E.R.™ students, as well as other students attending various high school campuses in the greater Seattle area. 

It is these tenacious young men whom The Breakfast Group recognizes, empowers, and encourages to continue on the path they have chosen. Various awards, scholarships, gifts, and other forms of recognition are presented to all nominees selected. 

Each of the 16 high schools in the Seattle School District has a plaque prominently displayed bearing the names of the students selected from their respective school. The most important aspect of this program is to encourage college enrollment by offering tuition scholarships and book stipends.

Awards over the years have totaled over $694,000 in scholarships, book stipends while impacting the lives of more than 2,285 students.
