Martin has worked for the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services for the past 12 years and is a 20-year United States Army veteran. He received his Masters Degree from Seattle University in 2009 and his Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Leo University in 1992. He currently serves the Washington State Labor Council as Vice President and is a member of standing on the Diversity Committee.  Martin has a history of community service. 

He served on the North Seattle Community College Diversity Advisory Committee, Seattle University’s School of Theology and Ministry Student Advisory Committee, and the Yesler Community Center Board. He supports school sports events, Mill Creek Parks and Recreation events and established a non-profit organization for veterans.
