This year, the 42nd Annual ROOTS Family Picnic will be held Sunday, August 31st (2014) at Jimi Hendrix Park - 2400 S. Massachusetts Street -Seattle, WA 98144

The Breakfast Group, The Northwest Black Pioneers, Seattle Parks and Recreation, ROOTS Committee, the Northwest African American Museum, and the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture are co-sponsoring the event this year.

There will be live music provided by local musicians, special community appreciation awards, and a special food table hosted for senior citizens.  Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch, beverages, utensils, blankets, chairs and all other picnic supplies.
